Progress tracking
A student progress tracker built around how teachers actually review learners
Progress is more than a grade. My Register is a free student progress tracker that combines grades, half-term reviews, RAG ratings and comments into one timeline per learner — so at any point in the year you can show how a student is really doing.
How progress tracking works
Half-term progress reviews
Review every student each half term against your own multi-section template, with each round versioned so you can see how judgements changed across the year.
A six-half-term overview
See a whole class on one grid — students down the side, the six half terms across the top — with RAG dots giving you the cohort picture at a glance.
Grades alongside reviews
Unit grades and coursework marks sit on the same profile as review judgements, so predicted grades and teacher assessments never live in separate systems.
Attendance in the same picture
Progress rarely makes sense without attendance. Registers, flags and punctuality sit one tap away from every review.
Shareable progress reports
Send a live, read-only progress review to a college, parent or manager with a link — no exports, no attachments.
Your own templates
Build review templates with the sections your course actually needs instead of forcing your judgements into someone else’s form.
Why track progress in one place?
In most settings, progress evidence is scattered: a grade in a spreadsheet, a review in a Word document, a concern in an email. When a college or parent asks how a student is doing, someone has to assemble the story by hand.
My Register keeps the story together. Every grade, review, RAG rating, comment and attendance mark attaches to the student’s profile, so the full picture is already assembled when you need it.
Reviews that match your course
Different courses review progress differently, so My Register does not impose a fixed review form. You build templates with your own sections, then complete them per student each half term.
Each completed round is versioned. When a student moves from amber to green between half terms, both judgements stay on record — which is exactly the trajectory evidence reviewers and colleges ask for.
From tracking to intervention
Tracking is only useful if it changes what you do. The RAG grid makes it obvious which students are stuck on red or drifting amber, and comments let you record what was agreed — a conversation, a referral, a target — next to the rating.
Because tutors and collaborators can share access to the same class, everyone working with a learner sees the same current picture rather than their own private notes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own progress review template?
Yes. You create review templates with as many sections as you need, then complete them per student each half term. Every round is versioned so earlier judgements are kept.
Can I share a progress review with a college or parent?
Yes. Reviews can be shared as live, read-only links. The recipient sees exactly the review you shared and nothing else, and you can deactivate the link whenever you like.
Does it replace my grades spreadsheet?
Yes — grades, coursework marks and predicted grades live in My Register alongside reviews and attendance, so there is one record per student instead of several.
