Attendance tracking
A student attendance tracker that turns marks into evidence
Marking the register is only the start. My Register is a free student attendance tracker that turns your daily marks into percentages, patterns and reports you can act on — and share — without building a single spreadsheet.
What you can track
Attendance percentages
Every student and every class gets a live attendance percentage, calculated from your actual marks — no formulas to maintain.
Automatic pattern flags
My Register flags frequent absences, consecutive absences and specific-day patterns, so the students who need attention surface on their own.
Punctuality
Track lates alongside absences and see punctuality separately, because a student who is always ten minutes late tells a different story to one who is absent.
Reports you can share
Generate attendance reports for a student, a class or a date range, and share them as live read-only links with colleges, parents or managers.
Comments in context
Attach safeguarding or praise comments to attendance events so the reason behind a pattern sits next to the numbers.
Whole-cohort overview
See today’s register status across all your classes from the dashboard the moment you sign in.
From daily marks to a real picture
Most teachers know roughly who is missing a lot. What is harder is proving it: showing a college that a student’s attendance dropped in March, or that absences always fall on the same day. An attendance tracker does that work for you.
Because My Register calculates everything from the registers you are already taking, there is no extra admin. Mark the register and the percentages, flags and reports update themselves.
Spot patterns before they become problems
A single absence is rarely the issue — the pattern is. My Register watches for consecutive absences, repeated absence on specific days, and students drifting below typical thresholds, then flags them on the student’s profile and your dashboard.
Each flag links straight to the underlying marks, so you can see the evidence and add context with a comment rather than digging through weeks of registers.
Share attendance with the people who need it
Tutors working with colleges, schools or employers often need to evidence attendance without handing over their whole system. Live report links solve that: the other party sees exactly the register or report you shared, read-only, and nothing else.
You control the links and can deactivate them at any time, and private student data outside the shared view stays locked down.
An attendance tracker, not another spreadsheet
Most attendance tracking still happens in a spreadsheet someone built years ago: formulas that break when a row is inserted, percentages that only update when nobody is looking, and no way to show the pattern without a screenshot.
My Register keeps the marks in one place and does the arithmetic for you. Add a student, mark a session, and the percentage, the flags and the report are already there. Nothing to maintain, and nothing to rebuild when the year turns over.
Made for tutors, colleges and FE groups
If you teach a handful of learners across several courses, you need attendance by class and by student at the same time. My Register tracks both, so a college can see the cohort picture while you keep the individual detail that actually drives a conversation.
It is free for every group size — one tutorial, one class, or a whole department — with no paid tier and no per-student charge.
Frequently asked questions
How are attendance percentages calculated?
Percentages are worked out from the sessions you have actually marked: attended sessions divided by total sessions. You can also use our free attendance percentage calculator for quick one-off checks and target calculations.
Can I track punctuality as well as attendance?
Yes. Late marks are recorded alongside present and absent, and reports show punctuality so you can see the difference between a student who misses sessions and one who regularly arrives late.
Is the attendance tracker free?
Yes — tracking, flags, reports and share links are all part of the free product. There is no paid tier.
What is the difference between a register and an attendance tracker?
A register records what happened on the day: present, absent or late. An attendance tracker works out what those marks add up to — percentages, trends, repeated patterns and reports you can share. My Register does both, so the register you already take feeds the tracker automatically.
Can I use it as a free attendance tracker for a small group?
Yes. You can start with a single class of any size and add more classes whenever your groups change. Google Classroom classes can be imported and refreshed, or you can build a class by hand.
Do parents or students need an account to see attendance?
No. A shared report link opens read-only in any browser with no sign-up, so a parent, carer or college manager can see the attendance you chose to share and nothing else. Links can be deactivated whenever you like.
