NCFE grading
A free NCFE grade tracker for units and assessment criteria
Delivering NCFE-style qualifications means tracking criteria across units for every learner. My Register is a free grade tracker built for exactly that: units, assignments, P/M/D grading, resubmissions and live reports you can share with your college or organisation.
What you can track
Unit-by-unit tracking
Set up the units you deliver, in the order you deliver them, and see each learner’s current grade per unit at a glance.
Criteria-based grading
Grade assignments against Pass, Merit and Distinction criteria and let the overall unit grade build up from what each learner has achieved.
Resubmission handling
Record resubmissions as new attempts without losing the original grade, with capping applied where your assessment rules require it.
Class date ranges
Set a start and end date for each class so reports reflect the actual delivery period rather than an arbitrary window.
Shareable grade reports
Generate a live read-only grade view for one learner or a whole class — ideal for keeping a partner college up to date.
Attendance and reviews included
Grades sit alongside registers, RAG reviews and comments, so achievement and engagement are never in separate systems.
A tracker that matches how NCFE-style courses run
Vocational courses are assessed through internally marked units, often with a mix of criteria levels and the ever-present possibility of a resubmission. Keeping that in a generic mark book means maintaining complex formulas that break the moment a unit changes.
My Register stores the structure natively. You add the units and assignments; the tracker keeps per-learner grades, overall unit outcomes and a complete history of every attempt.
Keep partners informed without extra admin
Independent tutors and training providers often report to a college or employer. Instead of a termly export, share a live link: the partner sees current grades whenever they look, and you never re-send a file.
Links are read-only, limited to exactly what you shared, and can be switched off at any time.
Independent and free
My Register is not affiliated with or endorsed by NCFE or any awarding body. It is an independent tool, built by a tutor, that simply follows the unit-and-criteria model these courses use.
It is also completely free — unit tracking, resubmissions, reports and sharing are all included with no paid tier.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support Pass, Merit and Distinction grading?
Yes. Classes can be set to criteria-based grading with Pass, Merit and Distinction, and overall unit grades are derived from the criteria each learner has achieved.
Is My Register affiliated with NCFE?
No. My Register is an independent product built by teachers and is not endorsed by or connected to NCFE or any awarding organisation. It is simply designed to fit unit- and criteria-based assessment.
Can I share grades with the college I work with?
Yes. You can create a live, read-only grade link for an individual learner or a whole class. The college sees only what you shared, and you can deactivate the link at any time.
